Sorry for the lack of updates. It’s taken me a long time to finish off some film. I just picked up a Holga roll today, so I’ll be scanning those and then I’ll have some new stuff to post. But tonight I’m going downtown for Summerfest and I’m going to get wild with The Ditty Bops, Big Sandy, and Big Smith. Big fun!!

Rio is a pyromaniac of the first degree. Camping means only one thing to him: campfire! I spent the entire weekend monitoring his activity around the fire. I’m resigned to the fact that keeping him away from the fire is impossible. That would require a strait jacket and a leash, so the only alternative is constant vigilance. There was a brief respite in the course of the evening when, to my relief, he ran off to play with the other kids in the campground. I was able to relax for a few minutes around the communal campfire and listen to the band. My reverie was soon shattered by the sight of Rio chasing a child on a bicycle and waving a big stick engulfed in flames. Mothering a pyromaniac kid ain’t easy, I’ll have you know.

Easley, MO. I took an early morning bike ride along the MO River during our camping trip last weekend. I love my XA, but I’m thinking it’s not particularly well suited to landscape photography. I’m still waiting on a battery cover for my Mamiya MSX so I can start shooting with that. They’re apparently not easy to come by. I’m wondering if I can shoot without it and just do without the built in light meter?

I just got this roll back from our camping trip over the past weekend, and it’s a bit disappointing overall - lots of shots were overexposed. I’ll see what I can salvage. This shot here is the best one from the roll, I think. That’s Aubrey on his bicycle. We camped out at Cooper’s Landing and did lots of biking. Fun was had by all!

I’m running out of pictures. I’ve been busy painting my house and not taking enough photos. I hope to remedy that soon.
